About Tracy Wade Design
Tracy Wade is the owner of Tracy Wade Design, a full service decorative painting firm founded in 1992. Tracy Wade Design has developed a reputation for excellence, integrity and unsurpassed designs that include faux finishes, murals, trompe l’oeil, textured finishes, stenciling, color consulting, and more.
Tracy Wade is recognized as one of the top surface designers in the Pacific Northwest.
Tracy has studied at Seattle Architectural Finishing School, formerly Vandelae Studio in Seattle, Definitive Studio in Houston, Chicago Institute of Fine Finishes, and the Faux School in Frederick, MD. Every year since 1998 she has continued her education, through her participation in workshops at Stencil Artisans League, Inc. (SALI now IDAL) conventions held throughout the United States. SALI/IDAL is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the art of stenciling and related decorative painting.
In 1998, Tracy founded the Emerald City Artisans (ECA) chapter of SALI. She served as the chapters first President in 1999, and has held positions as Vice President and continues on as Treasurer for the chapter. The ECA promotes education, professionalism, personal connection and share the passion for decorative painting. Through ECA, Tracy has attended the extensive classes that the chapter has held with many renowned teachers. Some of the teachers Tracy has studied with are: Jeff Raum, Cathy Carroll, Pierre Finkelstein (The Art of Faux), Sean Crosby, Rodney Ray, Aaron Cohen, Jennifer Carrasco, Nicola Virgini, Melanie Royals, Yves Lanthier (Trompe L’Oeil Murals) and many more.
Tracy strongly believes in giving her time and talent back to the community. Through her work with the ECA, in 1999 she donated murals in the Snohomish High School, and in 2000 and 2001 she provided murals to the Little Red Schoolhouse (a non-profit preschool for developmentally delayed children). Tracy has donated to Poncho for several years, and to many church and youth group auctions.
Tracy and her crew have worked in the Seattle Street of Dreams, the largest show on one street in the US, every year since 2001 completing several rooms in each house. Tracy was featured on the cover of the Fall 2001 issue of The Faux Finisher magazine with an article about the rock wall that was completed for the 2001 Seattle Street of Dreams. In 2006 Tracy and her crew applied their talents to two of the six featured homes. Tracy Wade Design was once again featured on the cover of the Winter 2001 issue of The Faux Finisher magazine. Her work has been published in the Seattle Design Resource Guide, and in several issues of Artistic Stenciler magazine.
